YELLOW BELT SPARRING DRILLS
These drills must be memorized and performed with a partner. They will be judged based on memorization, controlled targeting ability, and technical performance.
Low Rank Yellow Belt Drills
- Step up side kick, step back into a middle stance.
- Step up round kick, step back into a middle stance.
- Step up hook kick, step back into a middle stance.
- Step up and out into a front stance and reverse punch, step feet together and back into a middle stance.
Hop change and repeat with the opposite side
High Rank Yellow Belt Drills
- Step up double round kick, step back into a middle stance.
- Step up hook kick – round kick, step back into a middle stance.
- Step up side kick, land forward in front stance and reverse punch, step feet together and back into a middle stance.
- Step up hook kick, land away in a parallel stance, spin side kick with the opposite leg, spin side kick with the first leg, land forward in a front stance and reverse punch, step feet together and back into a middle stance.
- Step up side kick, land away in a parallel stance, spin heel kick with the opposite leg, land away in a middle stance, step up and out into a front stance and reverse punch, lead leg round kick, land feet together and step back.
Hop change and repeat with opposite side
