GENERAL CLASSROOM SPARRING RULES
All ranks are expected to perform all of the above sets from for their level and below. Students may apply their sets on a student who is one belt color under their own. (Example: Red Belts can punch Blue Belts to the head.)
Light contact! Never hit hard. If you believe you are being hit hard, tell your sparring partner. If that does not help, stop the match politely and alert your instructor to the situation. Your instructor will take care of the problem. Don’t hit hard because you are getting hit hard. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
No kicks or punches below the belt or to the back. Face contact is legal, but be cautious. No one wants to get hurt, nor do you want to hurt someone. No grabbing until black belt.
Stay in your sparring area. Be cautious and considerate of other matches.
Always wear all necessary equipment. All students under age 18 must wear head gear. Every student must wear a mouthpiece. All males must wear a groin cup. All body padding must be soft foam rubber. (No soccer shin pads). Instructor must approve pads purchased somewhere other than Cordova Taekwondo.
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Never spar by emotion.
Higher ranks should help lower ranks.
Be nice, because what goes around comes around.
10. Have fun!!!
