RULES AND REGULATIONS
We wish to maintain a relaxed atmosphere in the training center, but we must also remember that Taekwondo is a disciplined martial art, and that means there are some rules for the school that must be followed. Please read through and understand these rules, and do your best to follow them!
ENTERING AND EXITING THE SCHOOL: Respect is paid to your country and your Taekwondo School before anything else. When you enter or leave the workout room, you must bow to the flags at the front of the room.
RESPECTING INSTRUCTORS AND SENIORS: When addressing any black belt, regardless of age, size or if they are in uniform or not, refer to him/her as Mr./Ms.______ (last name). You must always remember to say Yes Sir / No Sir and Yes Ma'am / No Ma'am upon receiving any instruction from a black belt. All young people at Cordova Taekwondo must remember to address any adult (Mom and Dad included) by saying Yes Sir / No Sir and Yes Ma'am / No Ma'am.
NO SHOES ON THE WORKOUT FLOOR: It is an Oriental tradition to not wear shoes inside any building. Because this is a Korean Martial Art, we will follow the same tradition. Shoes are not allowed on the workout floor, and this goes for everyone!!! By doing so, we will not only be following tradition, but we will also keep our floor clean.
PARENT AND SPECTATOR PROTOCOL: Parents and family are always welcome (and encouraged) to come and observe class. This gives parents an opportunity to know what we are teaching the children, which is very important. Children whose family actively participates in their training (be it from the observation area or the workout floor) always advance more proficiently. However, parents, keep the noise level down. It is difficult for children to concentrate when there is a considerable amount of noise coming from the back of the room. We understand that the urge to talk to the other parents is great, but have respect for the class. Keep the talking to a quiet minimum. Along those same lines, small children must be looked after closely. We understand that sometimes it is necessary to bring small children into school; therefore, please do your best as parents to keep them occupied and as quiet as possible. Also please keep the little ones behind the spectator-dividing wall. While it is cute when Little Johnny toddles out onto the floor to kick and punch with the big guys, we do not want Johnny to accidentally get hurt.
UNIFORM CARE AND PERSONAL HYGIENE: Your classmates as well as your instructors greatly appreciate it when students come to class neatly dressed. An
